Privacy Policy
Musally does not ask who you are. There are no accounts, no adverts and no tracking of any kind. This page explains exactly what that means, and the few places where information does travel.
Last updated: 4 August 2026.
This covers the Musally website at musally.co.uk and the Musally apps for Android and iPhone.
The short version
We do not collect your name, email address or phone number. You do not need an account. There are no analytics, no advertising, and nothing that follows you between sites or apps. Your settings stay on your device.
What we do not do
The apps contain no analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising software at all. Not Google Analytics, not Firebase, nor anything similar. We do not read your device identifiers, we do not use cookies to follow you around, and we have never sold or shared data about anyone. There is nothing to sell, because we do not gather it.
What stays on your device
For the app to function properly, a few things are remembered on your device after setup; the masjid or masjids you have chosen, which prayers you want reminders for and how early, your display preferences, and a short-lived copy of recently downloaded prayer times so the app still works when you have no signal. None of this is sent to us. If you delete the app, it goes with it.
Prayer times
When the app or the site fetches a timetable, it asks our server for a masjid and a date. That is all the request contains. There is nothing in it that identifies you.
Location, if you choose to use it
Some features work out which masaajid are nearest to you. These are the only parts of Musally that use your location, and they only run when you ask them to. Android and iPhone will both ask your permission first, and you can say no. Everything else carries on working. You just pick your masjid from the list instead.
When you do use them, your approximate coordinates are sent to our server so it can put the results in order of distance and send them back to you. We use them for that one request and nothing else. They are not written or stored on any database, nor are they attached to anything about you. They are not shared with anybody in any form.
Postcode search on the website
If you type a postcode into the website to find masaajid near it, that postcode is sent to postcodes.io, a free public service run by Ideal Postcodes, which turns it into a map coordinate. We send them the postcode and nothing else. We do not keep it, and we have no way of connecting it to you. If you would rather not use that, search by masjid or town name instead.
Reminders
Prayer reminders are set up and fired by your own phone, using times already downloaded to it. Nothing is pushed to you from our servers, so we have no way of knowing whether you have reminders switched on, or for which prayers.
Saving a timetable
If you save or share a masjid's timetable, the file is written to your own device by you. We are not told that you did it.
Website logs
Like almost every website, our hosting keeps standard server logs, e.g., the IP address a request came from, the page asked for, and the time. These are used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse or faults. We do not use them to build a picture of anybody, and we do not combine them with anything else.
If you help run a masjid listing
People who look after a masjid's times can be given a login for our management area. For those accounts we hold a name and an email address, so we know who made a change and can email about a missing timetable. That is ordinary account information for people who have asked for an account. It is never shown publicly and never used for marketing. If you have one of these accounts and want it removed, email us and we will delete it.
Children
Musally is suitable for all ages. Since we do not collect personal information from anybody, we do not collect it from children either.
Your rights
UK data protection law gives you the right to see what an organisation holds about you, to correct it, and to have it deleted. For almost everyone using Musally there is nothing to see, because we hold nothing. If you have a management login, get in touch and we will deal with it.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site rather than quietly amending it.
Getting in touch
Any questions about this policy, or about privacy generally, email info@musally.co.uk and we will get back to you.
